Steve, Here is an update on our plans with regard to DWF support on Mac OSX, and our ongoing partnership with Apple: Last fall, Autodesk made an announcement about a partnership with Apple and plans to deliver DWF viewing and printing support and the DWF Toolkit on OS X. DWF is a standard for sharing engineering designs, and we recognize the need to support DWF across multiple platforms.
2. I have been a heavy user of MacDrawPro way back on Classic 9.1 OS which I was still running on my G5 Mac Tower. But once I discovered iDrawnow Graphic as AutoDesk has renamed it, I find this app over the top for the price to performance and capabilities.

Recently, Autodesk CEO Andrew Anagnost spoke to Architosh at length about the future of interoperability with BIM and future AEC apps, including significant comments about the Mac. We shared that conversation in a feature story published here last week.

There was something else that we spoke about though. We also touched base lightly on why Revit has never come to the Mac and if in the future there might be the possibility it will move beyond its monolithic Windows codebase.

Revit on the Mac

The answer isn't a simple 'yes' or 'no' and involves strategic decisions related to how Revit will evolve with reference to both the cloud and with reference to its own internal engines and core codebase. The wait is finally over for all you Mac and Revit users thanks to Frame. No more Bootcamp, Parallels or switching between a PC and Mac, well, yes, but no. Autodesk don't have a Revit for Mac version but there is an application called Frame that it can run through and Autodesk have certified it for Revit and AutoCAD.

'Frame: Run any software in a browser' is a cloud based application. Macbook print screen key.

So by the look s of it, it seems pretty straightforward and costs anywhere from $10 – $25 a month plus additional charges for usage above the allocated credits. Click here for a test drive.
